Krewe du Vieux

Krewe du Vieux, the outrageous political satire of a parade accompanied by a lot of sexual innuendo, kicked off Mardi Gras and made its way from the Faubourg Marigny through the French Quarter last night.
The parade had floats addressing and ridiculing numerous issues, local and global, like fracking, Russian aggression in Ukraine, climate change and CIA torture tactics as well as slandering local politicians like Senator David Vitter and Governor Bobby Jindal.
The parade route passes directly in front of Turtle Bay so stop by and grab a slice of pizza and a cold brew. And don’t forget to stop by Spirits on Bourbon for a Ressurection.
